Memphis punk trio Manateees had a record release show on February 1, 2013, for their new 7″ out on Goner Records, Cat Food/Tree House, with Sharp Balloons and AC Dreamcleaner as openers.  From what I can find, AC Dreamcleaner is Bay area musician A.C. Money of CCR Headcleaner and video artist Dungeon combining their efforts for an experimental audio-visual presentation.  They started the show off weird with candles and a lo-fi video presentation via a sheet haphazardly hung on the wall and a projector/VHS set up.   The crowd hung on through the homemade videos at the beginning of the performance, as well as the solo guitar/singing of A.C. Money, but once the gratuitous and violent pornography kicked in a lot of people bailed.  Memphis favorites Sharp Balloons played next and set the tone for the rest of the night with their fun, messy songs, including my favorites, “Shitty Car” and “Never Sorry” which never fail to get stuck in my head.  Manateees put on an awesome show that prompted dancing, mannequin leg tossing, and shouting along from the crowd, and I highly suggest you check them out if you can make it to any of the following shows:
